Licences
Environment Protection Licence
Environment Protection Licences are issued by the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage under the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997.
Environmental Protection Licences perform functions including the following:
- Allow activities such as the mining of coal and discharge of water from a site;
- Establish specific limits for environmental aspects including air quality, water quality, noise, vibration and waste;
- Specify monitoring to be undertaking, including air quality, water quality, noise, vibration and weather; and
- Specify reporting and record keeping requirements.for monitoring.

Exploration Licences
Exploration licences are issued by the NSW Department of Primary Industries to allow exploration of resources, and apply various conditions to ensure that exploration activities are undertaken to the satisfaction of the department.
